Shelly Perry is a freelance photographer who lives in Portland, Oregon. After spending over a decade working in the field of social services with emotionally disturbed children, Shelly turned her people focus in a new direction and took up her camera full time where she specializes in people photography—what she calls documentary or lifestyle portraits. She is known especially for her imaging of children. Her concern for people is reflected both in her sense of purpose and the photos she produces. Her images have been seen all over the globe on music CD covers, books, magazines, catalogues, websites, ad campaigns, and even on TV. Her work has also appeared in several local Portland exhibits and gallery shows.
Shelly attended Rocky Mountain School of photography in 2003 and has licensed her photos through stock agencies since 2005. She has been teaching photo workshops with Great Escape Publishing since 2006. In the past 10 years she has enjoyed the freedom of working as a freelancer and has been able to travel the world and hone her photography skills at the same time.
For the past five+ years Shelly has also been learning, using and sharing the amazing benefits of doTERRA essential oils. In an effort to help spread the word about these powerful drops of goodness and to support her growing team, she has been part of a duo, busy building a DIY health and wellness site called www.creatinghealthfromscratch.com.
